Nintendo Files Trademarks in Australia for Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush & Stretchmo

Nintendo has issued new trademarks for Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush as well as Stretchmo, possibly reawakening the almost 10-year-old franchises.

Over the years, Nintendo has brought many beloved franchises from previous consoles to the Nintendo Switch. From the Gameboy to the Nintendo 64, Nintendo has ported several games to its current console. It has proven to be a great way for new and old players to relive some of Nintendo’s lesser-known titles. Now, it appears that Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush and the puzzle title Stretchmo may be on the list.

What To Expect From Nintendo Filing New Trademarks For Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush and Stretchmo

Nintendo has filed new trademarks in Australia for Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush and Stretchmo, also known as Fullblox. This has led to speculation that these 2015 titles could be coming to the Nintendo Switch. It should be noted that this is not a renewal of the original trademarks for these titles. The old trademarks for these Wii U and 3DS games still exist. This gives some credence to the idea that Nintendo could be considering remakes or reboots rather than a straightforward port.

We’re not sure how many people have been clamoring for a Stretchmo remake, but it’s certainly possible. These games may even be released before the next Nintendo Switch is announced. However, although a new Australian trademark has been filed, it doesn’t guarantee that they will come to the Switch. It could just be that Nintendo is maintaining its control over the IP.

Although it is unknown if the two 2015 games will be ported, like any other leaks, players should take this information with a grain of salt and avoid getting their hopes up. We won’t know for sure if Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush or Stretchmo will have a reboot or remake until an official statement or reveal by Nintendo is announced.
