While XDefiant is an online competitive shooter, some players may to prefer to play it offline and against bots.
Playing online games can be a bit of a mixed bag. On the one hand, playing with friends or strangers in experiences like Helldivers 2 is a lot of fun. However, toxic communities can ruin other online games, such as Call of Duty. So, it’s no surprise that some players may be wondering whether XDefiant has an offline mode, or even bots to play against.
Can You Play XDefiant Offline?
No, you cannot play XDefiant offline. It requires a constant internet connection in order to be played. However, as there currently aren’t any single-player modes, this isn’t really a surprise. It is a competitive multiplayer shooter after all.
Of course, if additional single-player-focused modes are added in the future, we cannot envisage an offline mode being added. XDefiant, much like The Division, which does allow you to play single-player, will require an internet connection at all times. Fortunately, you won’t need a subscription, such as PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass in order to play this.
Does XDefiant Have Bots?
No, XDefiant does not have bots. Unlike other free-to-play shooters, such as Overwatch 2, it does not have dedicated bot modes or the ability to add bots in custom matches. However, it is possible that bots will be added in a future update.
According to the game’s roadmap, Private Matches and Practice Zones will be added in later Seasons. While the roadmap doesn’t specify which Seasons or when to expect these modes, it is still reassuring to know they’re coming. Of course, this doesn’t guarantee the inclusion of bots.
However, the Practice Zone is included in the “Comfort Features” section, which seems dedicated to improving the onboarding process for newcomers. We can imagine adding bots, much like how COD has bots, would make it easier for newcomers to get to grips with the game.
